GET TO KNOW SILVER OMEN
Silver Omen is a Berlin based electronic-pop artist, whose approach to pop music is a cathartic endeavour through the topics of sexuality, self-image and acceptance. Some of his inspirations include The Weeknd, Billie Eilish, and Robyn. The artist’s name is a nod to his country, as Argentina is named after the Latin word for silver: argentum, and Omen is - apart from an event of prophetic significance - a nod to his birth surname: Romano.
RAINBOW CATHARSIS is Silver’s first EP, available on August 15th. It was produced over the course of a year in Berlin and London. The five songs included in the EP are a revisitation of different stages of the artist's coming out journey, blending different subgenres of pop such as electronic pop, pop rock and synthwave, and in his own words:
“…something that had to come out from me after coming out myself, an introduction card and a way to open me to even broader artistic expression in the future.”
The five tracks in the EP are:
WELCOME TO THE CLUB - you’re welcome to Silver’s journey, starting with his two year straight relationship that is portrayed in WELCOME TO THE CLUB, as young Silver does everything in his power to feel normal and accepted
BREAKING POINT - Silver realizes who he is but still hates everything about it. This vulnerable pop-rock piece dives deeper into the artist’s relationship with himself during the early stages of secretly coming to terms with his sexuality, in an analogy that puts him against the mirror physically and emotionally
NO SHAME - Silver begins exploring his sexuality, but too much of something can also be chaotic and confusing, especially at the beginning. Dreamy pop gives way to electronic confusion as Silver uses physical touch to replace emotional development.
AT THE PARTY - the actual Breaking Point in Silver’s journey. It’s time to unite the everyday Silver and the free Silver, who used to roam the party scene but would never make it back home.
THE FLAME - the uplifting anthem that closes off the EP, Silver integrates all parts of himself and starts loving on the scars that have made him who he is today.
